Christchurch Surf Lessons is Canterbury’s dedicated surf school, based at Sumner Beach and operating across the region from Kaikoura to Timaru. We are part of the Aotearoa Surf family, one of New Zealand’s most established surf schools, operating since 2002 with no notifiable health and safety incidents and a track record built across hundreds of thousands of lessons, programs and camps throughout the country.
We came to Canterbury because this region deserves the best. Sumner is one of New Zealand’s great surf beaches. It has consistent waves, a stunning headland backdrop, a genuine surf culture and a community that has always loved the ocean.
